Democracy Now! Interview with Amy Goodman
Thank you to Democracy Now! and Amy Goodman for talking with me about my book, Becoming a Dangerous Woman, in not one, but two segments last week and today. In the first segment, we talked about why I decided to declare myself a dangerous woman in the book, as well as my decision to join Jane Fonda in the Fire Drill Friday protest on Dec. 20, 2019.
“Our single most dangerous act, actually, is preparing each other, supporting each other, showing up for each other, sponsoring, mentoring, championing each other,” I told her. “We are living in dangerous times, and such times require of us to become more dangerous to meet those challenges.”
The second segment (that Democracy Now! chose to end the year with on Dec. 31) focuses on some of the 15 dangerous women I had the privilege of interviewing in the book, including Mary Robinson (Mary Robinson Foundation - Climate Justice), Ava Duvernay (ARRAY), Abigail Disney (Peace Is Loud), Christine Schuler Deschryver (City of Joy and V-Day) and Ai-Jen Poo (National Domestic Workers Alliance). I am so grateful for the opportunity to talk about the incredible work that these truly dangerous women are doing.
What an inspiring way to go into 2020! You can watch both segments below.
