This week on Dangerous Women: Leading Onward, I spoke with Resson Kantai Duff, Deputy Director of Ewaso Lions, Kenyan Conservationist, and Dangerous Woman. Ewaso Lions is dedicated to conserving lions and other large carnivores by promoting coexistence between people and wildlife. Resson works as Deputy Director to engage in conservation with the wider public in unpacking and decolonising conservation, giving Kenyans back a sense of ownership over their wildlife, culture and land.
During our conversation, Resson shared the greatest threats to lions, what Ewaso Lions does to educate communities that encounter lions, and the hope she has for the future of the lion population.
Co-existing is possible, and conservation can come from the community itself.
